Tselinnyi Center of Modern Culture is the first private institution in Kazakhstan fo-cused on the development of interdiscipli-nary interaction of the modern culture and art. The Center was founded by Kairat Boranbayev and is located in the center of Tselinnyi cinema built in the Soviet time which now undergoes reconstruction man-aged by Asif Khan, the British architect. Tselinnyi panoramic cinema was built in 1964 according to a typical project (archi-tect: S. Rosenblum, site referencing: V. Katsev, B. Tyutin, engineer: V. Semenov) and immediately became one of the most popular leisure centers for residents of So-viet Alma-Ata (for example, in 1982 more than two million people visited it). The unique visual image of the Tselinnyi cinema facing the Alma-Ata Broadway with its lu-minant glass foyer facade, was formed due to the giant sgraffito of Yevgeny Sidorkin, the artist which could be seen from the street, showing horse racing, dancing and genre scenes. In the first decade of the 21st century, the cinema was rebuilt and was used as a nightclub while remaining a popu-lar place for urban leisure activities. In 2018, during the adaptation of the building for ex-hibition projects, the original sgraffito of Si-dorkin were found, which were previously considered lost. Tselinny Center for Modern Culture contributes to the expansion of the intellectual community. Tselinny's institutional strategy is based on the symbiosis of two motives: the here and now: here is for exhibitions, film programs, educational events, music and dance performances and other experimental artistic forms, now is for the pro-jects based on a research initiative that are aimed at the future development of the center. i.e. docu-ments, residences for academics and publishing program. The main task of the Center is to create processes in the artistic, academic, scientific environment and a platform for open thoughts and critical dis-cussions. The publishing program works with authors whose interest in research lies in the stock of new, modern problems. Thus, the results of data studies are available to a general and profes-sional public. Since its opening in 2018, the insti-tution has held more than 450 cultural social events including: exhibitions of modern art, film festivals, concerts, lectures, master classes, per-formances, biennale, educational projects, excur-sions and events for children. From the date of its establishment, Tselinnyi's scope of operations have covered over 3 million people. These are participants of our online projects, visitors of ex-hibitions, master classes, workshops, excursions, a publishing program audience.
