Every year on the third Sunday in June, Kazakhstan celebrates Health Worker's Day. Its celebration was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1998. Perhaps there is no profession in the world, the importance of which in human life plays a greater role than the profession of a doctor, nurse, and all medical personnel. It is health workers who help to identify a disease by symptoms and during the examination, determine its nature, build a scheme and methods of treatment, as well as carry out this treatment. For the employees of the Karaganda pharmaceutical complex «Health Worker's Day» is considered to be a professional holiday due to the fact that pharmaceutical production workers as well as health workers make a significant contribution to the health care system by providing patients with medicines in a timely manner. Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex LLP is the first domestic innovative biotechnological pharmaceutical enterprise, and this year the complex celebrates its 10th anniversary. The motto of the company: «Biotechnology for the benefit of people». Undoubtedly, at this moment the heart of every Kazakhstan citizen is overwhelmed with a sense of pride for their country. I hope that you will meet the trust placed in you by our people, - the President said with enthusiasm. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reminded that Kazakh athletes performed well at the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, winning two gold, four silver and four bronze medals. As the Head of State noted, the athletes - Vladimir Smirnov, Lyudmila Prokasheva, Yelena Khrustaleva, Denis Ten and Yulia Galysheva, who have forever inscribed their names in the history of national olympics, by their triumphant victories strengthened in our citizens the feeling of pride for their country. – I am sure you will also perform brilliantly at the upcoming Olympic Games. A serious start is ahead for our Paralympic athletes. The Paralympic Games are of great importance for the development of an inclusive society in our country. The stories of victories of Kazakh Paralympic athletes serve as an example of determination, perseverance and self-confidence. Unfortunately, the last days of training of our athletes were overshadowed by the tragic January events. But most importantly, thanks to unity and solidarity, our people were able to decisively fight back against terrorism, which threatened the integrity of the state. Taking into account good-neighborly relations, many years of productive cooperation in the pharmaceutical market between Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as the tragic events of recent days, which had a serious impact on the social and economic situation in our country, the shareholders of the Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex LLP (KPhC LLP) decided to assist in the fight to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. 150 000 doses of a single-component drug against COVID-19 developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center - "Sputnik Light" will be transferred to Kazakhstan on a free basis for revaccination of citizens. The vaccine has already been delivered to Kazakhstan, the time is necessary to put stickers on the vaccine. Until January 20, the Sputnik Light vaccine will be transferred to the warehouse of the CK-Pharmacy in Nur-Sultan. As you know, KPhC, for the immunization of the population of Kazakhstan, was the first to supply and produce the Sputnik V vaccine in February last year. Under the interstate contract with the Single Distributor of the CK-Pharmacy, Karaganda pharmaceutical complex, completely fulfilled its obligations to provide Kazakhstan citizens with 7 000 000 doses of vaccine. In addition to the production of vaccines, the main activity of KPhC is the production of a large line of biotechnological drugs for the treatment of socially significant diseases: hemophilia, oncology, viral hepatitis, diabetes mellitus, and orphan diseases.
