Meyirim Rehabilitation Center for special physical and mental needs in Almaty was established at the initiative and with financial support of Kairat Boranbayev, the Kazakh benefactor. He and his spouse, Sholpan Boranbayeva, are the permanent sponsors of the center.

The Сenter is one of the first nongovern-mental organizations in Kazakhstan of a profile where children can stay the whole day without parental care. Here, all condi-tions are created which are required for the comprehensive development, socialization and education of children and teenagers aged 3 to 15. After the Center was estab-lished, more than one thousand children have received correction pedagogic support and medical and social rehabilitation. In 2018, the building of Meyirim Center was reconstructed according to the modern standards of European rehabilitation centers at the own expense of Kairat Boranbayev. The Center provides correction and devel-opmental assistance to children and teen-agers having the following diagnoses: In-fantile cerebral palsy, various muscle-skeleton disorders and mental development disorders, Down syndrome, psycho-speech delay. Center has 6 full-day groups of com-prehensive development. In each group, ap-proximately 10 foster children study at the same time; 60 children receive permanent rehabilitation and socialization. In 2022, Center extended the range of spe-cial social services to children and teenagers in short-term stay groups, and the Academy of Life, a group for children over 15 years old, was opened. Teachers of the Center hold classes for children in sub-groups and individually in specially fitted rooms with all required mod-ern educational aids, toys and computer equipment. A fitted room works according to the Montessori method. All required con-ditions are created in the music room to re-veal the creative abilities of children. Center pays special attention to sensory develop-ment;, a sensory room is used for this; art therapy classes are held. The only projector room in Kazakhstan is equipped with for the development of fine and gross motor skills using 3D computer graphics projected on the floor and walls of the room. Most of the territory of the center is occupied by a sports hall which contains various elements, gym machines, sports equipment for the development of the musculoskeletal system. There is an exercise therapy hall where vari-ous simulators and technical equipment are used, which helps to overcome disorders of the musculoskeletal system of various ty-pologies. The Center also has a massage room. An inclusive playground, which is unique in Kazakhstan, is located in the terri-tory of the Center. It has a large number of play elements that contribute to the devel-opment of gross and fine motor skills in children as well as strength, plasticity, visual images, tactile sensations, social skills and skills of joint play. Play elements are availa-ble to children in wheelchairs. The space of the rehabilitation center is designed for the movement of children and teenagers with-out obstacles. The Center has a variety of rooms where children and teenagers can gain basic labor and creative skills. House-hold education for children is an analogue of professional therapy. Teachers help to acquire the skills necessary for everyday life. Center offers a four-time dietic nutrition. Center has a program titled School of Healthy Eating that teaches children the ba-sics of a healthy lifestyle and culture of nu-trition. School of Healthy Eating instilling in chil-dren the basics of a healthy lifestyle and culture of nutrition. The employees of the Сenter constantly im-prove their qualifications. The Center uses the latest technologies of social rehabilita-tion, medical rehabilitation, scientific and evidence-based practices. From the date of opening of the Center, more than 1,000 special needs children have used the services of the Center.
