The World Para Powerlifting Championship NUR-SULTAN 2019 completed in Kazakhstan. The championship was attended by 450 athletes from 76 countries and 5 world records were set up.

At the Closing Ceremony the baton was handed over to Hungary, where the next World Championship will be held in 2021.

On the first day of competition 2 records were set up at once - in the group A of women in weight category over 41 kg an athlete from China Cui Zhe lifted 101 kg, and a little later another representative of the Celestial Empire already in weight category over 45 kg Guo Linging set up the second world record with the result of 118 kg.

Later in the group A among women in weight category over 79 kg, an athlete from Nigeria Omolayo Bose set up the world record having lifted 142 kg, while for weight category over 86 kg, another representative from Nigeria Oluwafemiayo Folashade also broke the world record having lifted 150 kg.

Also, in men's weight category over 107 kg, an athlete from Mongolia Enkhbayar Sondompiljee set up an absolute record with the result of 247 kg!
Kazakhstan's national team won 4 medals at the Junior World Championship.

Among girls in weight category over 45 kg Kabyl Tursynay with the result of 57 kg won gold. It should be noted that this is the first gold in the history of Kazakhstan's para powerlifting at world championship. Silver was also got by our athlete Akanova Sandugash with the result of 45 kg.

For juniors in the weight category over 49 kg a bronze medal to collection of the national team was brought by Karybay Yerbolat with the final result of 91 kg. Buimov Zakhar in the weight category over 54 kg won a silver medal with the result of 95 kg.
David Degtyarev and Raushan Koishybayeva participated in the Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020. On the first day of the competition in the 49 kg weight category David took the 5th place with the result of 162 kg, which was achieved by him from the second attempt. On the 5th day of the competition Raushan in her weight category (67 kg) took the 7th place with the result of 117 kg at the first attempt.
